Our Story

At Oven Story, we believe that indulgence and wellness can go hand in hand. Our journey started long before our bakery came to life. For over 15 years, Shashank and I have made fitness and wellbeing central to our lives. But in 2020, I had an eye-opening realization: refined ingredients - especially in everyday treats - pose a significant threat to our health. Suddenly, the ingredient labels I once overlooked became a focal point.

I searched for alternatives to satisfy our sweet tooth, but everything seemed to fall short. Most options were packed with refined sugar, refined flour, or loaded with artificial sweeteners and additives. Determined to find a better solution, I began experimenting in our kitchen, crafting desserts that didn’t compromise on health or taste. Our friends and family were quick to encourage us, often saying, “You could easily sell these!”

Life, however, had other plans. After a major move across countries, the timing wasn’t right. But by the summer of 2024, a twist of fate brought us to a farmers market with our baked goods in tow, and Oven Story was born. Now, we’re on a mission to share these delicious, wholesome, guilt-free desserts with you - desserts that are free from refined ingredients but full of flavor and joy.

The Baker

I’m Priyanka, the heart and hands behind our gluten-free and refined sugar-free bakery.

We started “Oven Story” to create wholesome, delicious treats that everyone can enjoy. I believe that when we use unrefined wholefood ingredients, health and happiness is the natural consequence. When not baking, I channel my creativity as a Product Manager, developing software products.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of running this business has been meeting our wonderful customers. It’s been eye-opening to see how many people have intolerances, or simply prefer to eat clean. The excitement on their faces when they find us is truly heartwarming.

The Operator

I’m Shashank, the operational mastermind behind Oven Story, making sure the wheels are always turning. My role combines two of my biggest passions: my love for numbers and my sweet tooth. While Priyanka works her magic in the kitchen, baking the healthiest and tastiest bakes around, I focus on keeping us financially sound — pricing every bake to ensure we deliver real value.

This journey has been full of new challenges, and I’m loving every minute of it as I learn and grow. You’ll often find me at the market, either chatting with our amazing customers or strumming away on my guitar. Either way, I’m having the time of my life! The past few months have been some of the most memorable yet.
